JBN was started as a project of the Jewish Heritage Programs.
JHP connects Jews to their identity and to Jewish community through peer-to-peer programming for university students, alumni, and professionals. JHP’s unique programs give the reins of community building to members and ensure lasting Jewish identities through multiple pathways for Jewish expression. JBN works closely with JHP Mentoring [link to Mentoring site] to provide students and recent alumni with healthy business networks, career guidance, and opportunities.

Additional JHP Programs and affiliates

> JHP on Campus has brought over 200,000 to Shabbos dinners, holiday celebrations, tzedakah events, and community gatherings on 10 campuses since 1993. Through JHP’s peer-to-peer networking, students build vibrant communities of their own and strengthen their Jewish identities far beyond graduation.

> Young Professionals Network maintains JHP alumni and their friends’ connections to Jewish identity and each other after graduation. The growing group features intimate Shabbos dinners, large-scale holiday celebrations and parties, and other social events.

> Old City Jewish Art Center is Philadelphia’s only Jewish art gallery with monthly exhibitions, in-house artists, workshops, classes, and a Philly-famous exhibit opening and Shabbos dinner on First Fridays.

> Lubavitch House at Penn is Penn’s Jewish home away from home, providing every resource a Jewish student needs.

> Jewish Relief Agency feeds more than 1,500 impoverished Jewish families each month through volunteer-driven food packing and distribution.

The flagship program is a monthly power-lunch series featuring local business and political leaders from the area.
